NP’s Gardner enjoys big day

North Panola’s Jaylashun Gardner had a game that high school baseball players dream about Friday in Marks.
The Cougar sophomore drove in seven runs with a single, triple and home run as North Panola eased past M.S. Palmer 20-4 in three innings on the Dragons’ home field.
Gardner also struck out six over three innings of work on the mound while allowing one hit and walking three batters.
K’marion Smith registered two singles and drove in three runs for the Cougars. Jordan Webb also added a pair of singles and two RBI’s.
Laderius Holiday chipped in with a two-run double for North Panola who evened their record at 5-5 on the season.
Morris Manning added a single and scored three times. Holiday. Smith and Darius Bramlett all scored three runs while Gardner, Webb and Omarion Johnson crossed the plate twice each.
