North Panola rallies against West Tally

Daries Bramlett and Jaylashun Gardner combined to strike out 12 batters over four innings as North Panola High School rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat West Tallahatchie High12-8 Thursday.

The Choctaws led 5-0 after two innings before North Panola closed the margin with four runs in the third.

West Tallahatchie responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame to take a 8-4 advantage.

North Panola (4-4) erupted for eight runs in the fourth to secure the victory. Gardner fanned five and walked five in two innings on the mound while Bramlett struck out seven and gave up one hit, also working two innings.

Gardner paced the Cougars at the plate with a double, single and two runs scored. Morris Manning and Bramlett recorded singles. Jordan Webb and Laderius Holiday scored two runs each for the Cougars.

North Panola hosts M.S. Palmer High School (Marks) today at 4:30 p.m. at Batesville’s American Legion field.
