North Panola outslugs Coldwater 25-15

When North Panola and Coldwater meet their fans are usually talking about basketball. Wednesday, however, the two teams met on the baseball diamond.
The home-standing Cougars came away with a 25-15 five-inning slugfest that took three hours and 15 minutes to complete. NP plays its homes games at American Legion Field in Batesville.
North Panola (2-3) battled through the lineup twice including 14 batters in a 11-run fifth inning. Tramarion Bonner drove in three runs with a double and single while Dennis Robinson, Jamarcus Nelson and Jordan Webb recorded two RBI’s each.
Jaylashun Gardner recored two singles, a double and scored five runs to pace North Panola offensively.
Nelson also added two doubles and crossed the plate four times. Ladarius Holiday singled in the bottom of the fifth to score Markeviyon Weatley to end the game.
North Panola used four pitchers in the game with Nelson getting the start. Holiday then followed with Bonner and Bramlett finishing the game in relief.
North Panola will be back in action March 18 as they visit Clarksdale High before hosting DeSoto County Academy the following day with first pitch slated for 5 p.m.
