Feb. 23

The 15th annual Bill Lipscomb Memorial Rodeo will be at the Batesville Civic Center with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. All the rodeo events from past years will be included and miniature bucking bulls and horses have been added. The Grace Place Grand Opening is Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its headquarters on 206 Pettit Street. Tours and refreshments included. (The Grace Place, Inc. is a Christian charitable organization, seeking to coordinate church and community efforts to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in our community.)

South Panola Parent Center will present the workshop: Teachable Moments Making the Ordinary Extraordinary. Presenters are Melissa Readus and Tunga Otis, Family Engagement Specialist, Early Childhood Academy of Jackson. March 1

SpringFest Pageant entry forms are due March 1 for all age groups. The pageant will be held March 30. Open to Mississippi residents from 6 months to age 18, the pageant winners in each division will be presented during the 21st annual SpringFest scheduled for May 17-18 on the Downtown Square.

The Panola County Mobile Food Pantry will make distributions at Cistern Hill Church on Wednesday, March 13, from noon to 2 p.m. Vouchers may be picked up at Sardis Library on Friday, March 1 from noon to 4 p.m.; at Cistern Hill on Saturday, March 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Thursday, March 7 from 2 to 6 p.m.; and at Crenshaw Library on Monday, March 11 from noon to 4 p.m.

The 10th annual Fit Camp 2019 returns March 14-16 (Thurs. – Sat.) from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  and from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Keating Dr. The 5k starts at 9 a.m. on the 16th. Everyone is invited and encouraged to take part.
