Dennis Wayne Austin, 50, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

Funeral services were held Thursday (Feb. 7) in the chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks.

Interment followed in Crowder Cemetery in Crowder.

One of Dennis’ greatest enjoyments in life was making jewelry. He was also an avid hunter and just had a big lovable heart. Dennis will be missed by his family which include his father Dennis Austin (Cindy) of Crowder; two sisters, Carolyn Austin (Charlie) of Calhoun City and Janice Stacy (Larry) of Water Valley; two brothers, Bryan Austin of Crowder and Cris Austin (Cassie) of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his mother Linda B. Austin.

David “Glenn” Barnett, 69, died Feb. 2, 2019, at his home in Sardis. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Feb. 8) at Union Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Barnett was born on August 31, 1949 in Sardis to the late Rose Brown Barnett and Frank Barnett. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and was owner of Glenn Barnett Trucking Company for over 40 years.  

 

Funeral services for Tyler Marcellous Butts, 23, of Sardis will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at North Panola High School. Interment will follow at Hammond Hill Cemetery in Senatobia.

He died Feb. 1, 2019.

Mr. Butts was born Feb. 6, 1995, in Oxford to Terry Butts and Lisa Brown-Whitehead.

The family will receive visitors today (Feb. 8) from 3 to 6 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services for Ruby Catherine “Skeet” Finch, 75, were held Thursday (Feb. 7) at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Mo., with Rev. Kevin Sullivan and Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

Mrs. Finch died Feb. 3, 2019.  She was the daughter of the late Robert D. McDonald and Eula (Thompson) Edwards (Milton).

She was born June 14, 1943, in Jackson. She was married to James Finch on Jan. 26, 1964. Mrs. Finch was a member of Third Street Baptist Church, and was a retired nurse of 35 years. Her hobbies included gardening and arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband, James Finch of Kennett, Mo.; a daughter, Louisa Fontaine Sullivan (Rev. Kevin) of Owensville, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Dustin Noel-Finch Sullivan (Lauren) of Jonesboro, Ark.; Shelby Catherine Sullivan of Owensville, and Anna Hope Sullivan of Springfield, Mo.

Funeral services for Pamela Lewis, 59, will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Peters M.B. Church in Batesville. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis.

She died Feb. 5, 2019, at her residence. She was born June 2, 1959, to the late A.C. Eksridge and Pearline Danner Young in Sardis.

Visitation will be today (Feb. 8) from 3 to 6 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis.

 

Funeral services for Kenneth M. Smith, 62, formerly of Charleston, will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Charleston. Interment will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.

He died Jan. 27, 2019, in Chicago.

Mr. Smith was born July 18, 1956, in Charleston to Albert Smith and Ruth Metcalf.

The family will receive visitors today (Feb. 8) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

 

Funeral services for Clara Ree Wyatt, 64, will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel with Pastor L.C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Ray Cemetery in Pope.

She died Jan. 28, 2019, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven.

Mrs. Wyatt was born March 28, 1954, in Pope to the late Lank Williams and Ruth Lloyd Williams. She was an active member of West Camp M.B. Church in Batesville.

The family will receive visitors today (Feb. 8) at Cooley’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
