The South Panola competitive cheerleading squad will travel to Orlando Wednesday for this year’s Universal Cheer Association (UCA) National Competition. Competition will be held Friday through Sunday, Feb. 8-10 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The local public and supporters may see the squad in a showcase Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in the Batesville Middle School cafeteria. The squad will perform their show to compete in the high school in the Super Game Day on Friday and Super Traditional on Saturday. The Tiger cheerleaders placed second in the state championship in December.

Because they finished in the top 10 last year, they qualified to compete for the world championship while they are there on Sunday. There will be 10 squads in that division, only three from the United States.
