Junior guard Sayle Stennett added just that boost as the junior guard, along with teammate Ally Alford, scored 17 points each as North Delta improved its record to 14-7 and 4-1 in district play with a 60-31 rout of the Colonels.

“We started off a little slow offensively but our defense created some turnovers that led to some easy baskets. I felt like this was our best all-around game we’ve played. Seems like our offense starts out slow but sooner or later they get going,” said North Delta head coach Harrison Nickle.

North Delta broke open the game late in the first quarter by going on a 7-0 run to take a 14-7 lead after one quarter of play. The Lady Wave extended its lead to 29-9 midway through the second period on a Hannah Bollinger three pointer.

Breck Brewer accounted for her only two points of the game with a cutback of a missed shot to give North Delta a 38-15 lead at halftime.

“Sayle stepped up and had a great game tonight. We have been encouraging her to shoot the ball more. Breck did an outstanding job on defense also,” said Nickle.

Bollinger followed in the scoring column with nine points while Shelby Grace Boone added six. Isabella Morrow accounted for five with Eliza Morris and Sydney Talley finishing with two each.
