Stella White Kimbrough

Sardis –  Mrs. Stella White Kimbrough, 70, passed away at her residence Saturday June 30, 2018.

Funeral services were held Tuesday July 3, 2018 beginning 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Sardis.

Mrs. Kimbrough, daughter of the late Jacob and Cora White, was a factory worker and a member of Church of God faith.

Minnie Lee Light

CHARLESTON –  Minnie Lee Light, 87, of Charleston, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.

Light was born August 17, 1930 in Potts Camp, to the late Bessie Rhyne Betts and General Lee Betts. She was a member of Peach Creek Baptist Church near Sardis.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, at 2 p.m. in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Friday from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.

Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Oliver

BATESVILLE –   Larry Oliver, 64, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Eureka Church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

He was born March 7, 1954, in Batesville to the late Walter J. Oliver and Lessie Mae Bradford Oliver. He was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church in Batesville.

Doris Annette Partee

BROADVIEW, ILL. –    Doris Annette Partee, 58, formerly of Sardis, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at Foster G Hospital in Proviso TWP, Ill.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Viney Creek M.B. Church in Sardis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Ozine Thomas will officiate. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

She was born February 25, 1960, to the late Daryl Buster Partee and Everta Ellis.

Michael Shayne Smith

SARDIS –    Michael Shayne Smith, 48, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 8, at 2 p.m. in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church near Batesville.

Shayne was born on January 17, 1970 in Memphis, to Melanie Tucker Smith Lynch of Oxford and Stanley A. Smith of Sardis.

He was a cook and entertainer.

Larry Stevens

SARDIS –    Larry Stevens, 77, diedy July 1, 2018 in Southaven. 

A graveside service was held Tuesday, July 3, at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Sardis. 

He was born September 4, 1940 to the late John Calvin “Buster” Stevens and Gladys Mae Riales Stevens in Sardis. Larry was a brick mason during his lifetime and a member of Union Baptist Church.
