Panolian give Superbowl picks

You should have heard the groans around the office.
They were pretty pathetic.
“Myra, you’re making us pick the Super Bowl winner too early. Wait until after this weekend.”
Nope. Wildcard weekend starts tomorrow. Declare the winner before the playoffs begin.
At least it’s not at the beginning of the season.
The problem is most of us have two or three teams we like with local or semi-local players from Ole Miss and they’re splitting the fence.
Well, now it’s time to go to the greener side.
As for my picks, I have been a lifelong Dallas fan but some years I have strayed because I did not always like the personnel.
I don’t know exactly when New England came into the league but when I started liking them when they could not buy, steal or borrow a win, way back when. Then they started being a major player and I pat myself on the back for sticking with them all these years.
For some odd reason, my daughter picked up on that and the Patriots are her only team. However, I could never resign myself to just one favorite team.
Over the years that we have had locals playing for different teams, I have become interested in some of the other teams having success and taking our  players to the Super Bowl. But with a chance for my two favorite teams to meet in the big game, I am so excited about this year’s game.
Now back to some of my colleague’s responses. Michelle Buckner’s was the funniest. See her sheet with all the faces and comments. She just has problems when its comes to Green Bay and the New York Giants meeting.
She hails from Wisconsin and she likes Eli Manning. Hence the drama (I mean dilemma).
Then Debbie could not decide so she let husband Keith fill in one of the sheets. I think she was biting her nails, raking her hands through her hair and always shaking her head over the picks.
Here are the picks from the rest of the staff who decided to be good sports that is:
Ashley Crutcher – New England Patriots 35 vs. Dallas Cowboys 28
Rupert Howell – New England 31 vs. Giants 28
Rita – Dallas 35 vs. New England 30
Andy Young- New England 31 vs. Dallas 20
Will Dickins – Patriots 34 vs. Giants 20
Keith Parker New England 30 vs. Dallas 21
Debbie Parker – New York 28 vs. New England 24
Maranda Johnson – Dallas 26 vs. New England 24
John Howell Sr. – New England 28, Seattle 21
I have put the full brackets in for Michelle and the sports writers for everyone to see how good or bad pickers we are.
I have also added an empty bracket for you to fill in your own and put near the TV. Write in ink so you can’t just go changing the bracket after the game.
Well, get ready to enjoy the end of the NFL season.
