ND opens playoffs at Adams Christian
By Will DIckins
North Delta travels to Natchez tonight to face Adams County Christian in the first round of the playoffs
The Green Wave’s goal at the beginning of the season was to first make it to the playoffs and then get past the first round. That chance arises tonight against the second ranked private school team in AAA.
The Rebels of Adams County Christian boast an 8-2 record, winning eight straight games after losing the first two.
They seem to have figured out the scheme and strategies to be able to win at a high level and will put that to the test in the playoffs.
North Delta comes in with a record of 4-6 after losing a close game last Friday to Fayette Academy. This will be the Green Wave’s second long distance road trip in two weeks and will look to wipe away the fatigue that comes with it.
Adams County finished the season undefeated in district 4-AAA. They scored 342 points and allowed 197 points. Their two losses at the beginning of the season came against Madison Ridgeland and Jackson Academy.
They are led on offense by senior athlete Cade Wells, No. 2, who can run, throw, catch and score, along with senior Davis Sharp, No. 7.
Last week they downed Simpson Academy 48-27.
Kickoff is 7 p.m.
