Lady Tiger softball demolishes Greenville 28-0 in three innings

The South Panola slowpitch softball team demolished Greenville Thursday afternoon at home, run-ruling them in a 28-0 shut out in three innings.
The Lady Tigers scored numerous runs with multiple strong hits. The Lady Tigers batted through the line up in the first inning and scored 10 runs. Chloe Morgan started off with the first hit as she tripled to center driving home Tra’Meisha Toliver and Sydney Morgan who both got on base with walks.
Morgan Parker singled and drove home Chloe Morgan. Kahlena Hentz followed with a double. Repeated walks and singles allowed the Lady Tigers to continuously score as Greenville struggled to make the outs.
The second inning was scoreless for the Lady Tigers, but they made up for it in the third by scoring 18 runs. Taylor Haney walked to first, followed by a Janarria Sanford single and another walk by Nautica Edwards.
With the bases loaded, Sydney Morgan struck the ball sending it flying over the fence for a grand slam homerung. After more walks and singles, Morgan Parker doubled to left driving home Toliver. Hentz followed with a bases-clearing triple, driving home two more runs.
The bases were loaded again as Sanford came up to bat, driving the ball over the fence for another grand slam homerun.
Sydney Morgan followed with another homerun, knocking the ball over the fence at center field, which is also the highest part of the fence. Chloe Morgan tripled for a second time.
The Lady Tigers continued to make contact with the ball and run the bases. After scoring 18 runs in the third with only one out the game was called and the Lady Tigers run-ruled Greenville 28-0.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Charleston to face the Tigers at 5 p.m.
South Panola hosted Winona in non-conference action yesterday, but the score was not available at press time.
Thursday, the Lady Tigers will travel to New Hope for district action at 4 p.m.
