BPD report: Faith Tabernacle church vandalized over weekend

By Rupert Howell
A church on Petit Street was vandalized Friday night or early Saturday morning, according to BPD Patrolman Justin Johnson’s occurrence report. The vandals  caused approximately $700 in damages to two windows.
The report stated that Johnson arrived at Faith Tabernacle to find two windows broken next to the front door by a brick.
The key holder told Johnson the only thing he noticed was the refrigerator door opened while stating the windows were intact at 3 p.m. the afternoon before.
Later that day Patrolman Justin Davis  was dispatched to Batesville Civic Center to a possible disturbance.
“ . . . Upon my arrival. . . was advised the subjects causing the disturbance had left the area. All OK,” Davis’ report stated.
On the following day Patrolman Zach White was dispatched to the Kroger gas pumps on Keating Road where a customer reported a burglary from a car at the pumps.
“(the) Caller stated he noticed $60 missing from his vehicle after leaving the gas station and believes it was taken from the car as he was paying at the cashier booth.”
A statement was taken and a Kroger employee stated that a manager would have to pull video at a later date according to White’s report.
