Mary Craig Hickman
Mary Craig Hickman, age 99, died peaceful at Methodist Hospice Residence on Monday, June 27th.  Mary enjoyed her final years at her Memphis home.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Hickman and members of the Craig family in Batesville, MS.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Hickman Haggard, of Sherwood, AR and niece, Elizabeth Young, of Acworth, GA.
 
She has additional family members in Mississippi, Arkansas and Georgia.  Mary had many friends from her 30 years of service at Memphis Veterans Hospital.  She was also a member of Whitehaven Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 5th at 11 a.m. Independent Presbyterian Church’s Sanctuary at 4738 Walnut Grove Road Memphis, TN 38117.

 A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery on Highway 51 South Batesville, MS.  Forest Hill Funeral Home, South and Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville will preside over the graveside service

George Wesley “Sambo” McLeod Jr.,53, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at Willson
Hospice House in Albany.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Cool
Springs Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.  Rev. Grady
Morey and Rev. Ronald Barrett will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Hatcher, Dustin Hatcher, Larry McLeod,
Frankie McCarty, Greg Gaughn, Hugh Meixner, Scotty Wilson, and Waylon
Creighton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dickie Hydrick, Buddy Thomas, Johnnie
Gibbs, Bubba Workman, David Pollock and David Williams.

Born November 10, 1962 in Mitchell County he was the son of George W.
McLeod, Sr. of Sale City and Judith Pollock Brackin of Pelham.  Sambo was
owner/operator of SGS Trucking, LLC, a professional horse trainer and
professional judge for the National Cutting Horse Association.   He was a
graduate of Ravenwood Academy and attended ABAC and the University of
Tennessee at Martin.  He was preceded in death by his brother, William
Murdock McLeod, II; grandparents, Claude and Opal Pollock and Murdock and
Ellen McLeod; an aunt, Nancy Pollock Walters and uncle, Tommy Pollock.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Sharp McLeod of Pebble City; sons,
Caldwell Sides McLeod and George Armstrong McLeod of Como, MS; mother,
Judith Pollock Brackin and husband, Walter E. Brackin of Pelham; father,
George W. McLeod, Sr. of Sale City; sister, Penny (Ronnie) McLeod Wynn of
Moultrie; in-laws, J.I. and Patsy Hatcher of Pebble City; nieces and
nephews, Blaize (Cody) Wynn Bridges, Tye Wynn and Murdock Wynn; numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at Cool
Springs Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Willson Hospice
House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, Ga. 31707.

Larry Spivey
SARDIS––Larry Spivey, 68,  passed away June 29, 2016.

Services were held Saturday at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was held at Longtown Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge.

He was self-employed in hardwood floor installation and small engine repair.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Wayne Spivey.

 He is survived by his wife, Brenda Brents Spivey; daughters, Angela Gilley of Edmond, Okla., and Mary Beth Ruiz of Arkabutla; son Jason Spivey of Sardis; sisters, Glenda Victoria Hopper of Corinth and Linda Gloria Mayo of Crenshaw, MS; brothers, John Wayne Spivey of Coldwater, MS, and Larkin Spivey, Jr. of Corinth, MS; grandchildren, Allison Gilley, Madison Gilley, Emerson Gilley, Richard Ruiz, Chelsea Ruiz, Ana Ruiz and Rigo Ruiz.  
 Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
