The Northwest Mississippi Area Job Fair will be held Tuesday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Batesville Civic Center. Approximately 40 companies, businesses and agencies are scheduled to meet with potential employees.

A diversity of job opportunities ranging from truck driving to sales to management to technicians will provide hundreds of positions to be filled at the job fair. MS State Personnel Board has over fifty positions available from accounting professionals to nurses.

According to Adam Todd, Governor’s Job Fair Network Director, the Mobile WIN Job Center will be located outside to assist individuals with applying for positions online. 

Northwest Community College will be on hand to help individuals find jobs within their skill set, as well as help them determine what certificate is needed for a job and how to obtain the certificate.

 “An individual can see if there is a roadblock that is preventing him from getting his ideal job and work to demolish the roadblock,” said Todd.

There were 336 interviews conducted at last year’s job fair which resulted in 210 job offers that day. A total of 650 job applicants applied for jobs with the 48 registered employers at the fair. Approximately 530 job seekers were eventually hired from the  job fair.

The list of venders registered for Tuesday’s Job Fair includes: Aramark, Tower Loans, Mississippi State Center for Distance Education, Fever Powertrain North America Inc., TG Mississippi, Resource MFG, Valenti MidSouth Management, Belhaven University, MS State Personnel Board, Schulz Xtruded Products, KLLM, Love Vets Ministries, North Mississippi Regional Center, Heart to Heart Personal Care Assistant Agency, Mid-Delta Home Health & Hospice, Jackies International, Institute of Community Services Inc., Marshall County Correctional Facility,  Ace Training Center, Toyota, MS Department of Human Services, EMI Staffing Services, MS Army National Guard, Insituform Technologies, Whelan Event Services, ACI Building Systems LLC., Minact Inc./ Finch- Henry Job Corps Center, Kelly Services Inc., Crown Cork & Seal, Primerica Financial Services Inc., Huntington Ingalls, Select Staffing, Mississippi Department of Employment Security, South Delta Planning & Development District, Winchester and MMC Materials Inc.
