City of Batesville and the local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office are still awaiting funding for streambank stabilization projects along Sand Creek which runs through Batesville.
The projects would extend the rip rap stabilization work between Walgreens and Williams Transmission Repair, stabilize the creek bank further downstream near Acorn Lane and further upstream near Hickory Lane.
Mayor Jerry Autrey announced at the city’s March 1 meeting that the city had reapplied for the bank stabilization funding it had originally requested two years ago.
