Amanda Ivy batted .357 (5-14) with three RBI’s and four runs scored as Mississippi State opened up its 2016 softball season by winning five games in the Bulldog Kickoff Classic.
Adam Cook batted 5-for-7 with two RBI’s as Coahoma Community College earned a doubleheader split with Arkansas Baptist Wednesday in Clarksdale. Teammate Landon Fullilove also drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers. Cook also singled and drove in a run as Coahoma fell 3-2 to Calhoun (Ala.) CC.
Austin Towles gave up two runs on two hits in .2/3 innings of relief as Northwest Community College opened up the 2016 baseball season with a 8-7 win over Lincoln Trail, (Ill) Saturday at Senatobia
Skyler Lawson walked two batters while surrendering two runs in Mississippi Delta’s 8-7 season-opening victory over Co-Lin.
Nicole Fullilove struck out three batters while giving up three unearned runs on three hits in 1 and 1/3 innings of relief as Central Arkansas fell 12-0 to No. 25 South Alabama Saturday in the Sand Dollar Classic at Gulf Shores, Ala.
