Rusty Dye
Rusty Dye, 65, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at his home in Sardis, MS. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Sardis, MS to Wyllo Turner Dye and Dennis Dye.
He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, and was retired from ANR Pipeline. He took great pride in his community where he was elected to three terms as an Alderman for the City of Sardis, and as the town’s Mayor, where he served for ten years.
Mr. Dye is survived by two sons, Dennis David Dye of Sardis, MS and Ernest Franklin Dye (Jennifer) of Gemantown, TN; and four grandchildren, Emma, Isabella, Clara, and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyllo Turner Harrison and Dennis Dye. Funeral were held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Sardis United Methodist Church in Sardis, MS. Interment was in Longtown Cemetery in Panola County.
