Protection order granted during municipal court

Judge Jay Westfaul referred a Batesville man to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.
Carlos McGhee, 111-A Cole Dr., Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for sexual battery and had old fines of $462.50 due since April 2012. He was ordered to have his old fines paid in full or serve time in jail.
Lynell A. Stamps, 855-B Shady Grove Rd., Batesville, requested time to get an attorney for charges of domestic violence-simple. He entered a not guilty plea to trespassing.
A protection order hearing was also held. Judge Westfaul ordered Stamps to stay away from his wife who has filed for divorce.
Stamps was ordered to not text or communicate with the family of Kadeshia Stamps, ordered he not buy or possess a firearm, to not go to the school where Mrs. Stamps children attend and to not go within 50 yards of her family.
“If you violate this order you will go to jail,” the judge said.
Chad C. Alford, 415 College, Batesville, was found guilty in his abscence after testimony from Officer Clyde Estridge for dog running at large. He was fined $100.
D’Lirian D. Casey, 231 Van Voris, Batesville, entered the city’s work program for 30 days in lieu of paying old fines of $1,146 due since October 2015 and new fines for public drunk and public profanity equalling $1,146.
Johnna Woodard, 1014 Adams St., Grenada, had a trespassing case dismissed due to lack of prosecution after affiant, Mike Evans, failed to appear to prosecute.
Quinterrious D. Smith, 21-B Bethlehem, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to trespassing and was fined $417. He had old fines of $268.75 due since February 2013. He was ordered to have the old fines paid in full within two weeks or serve time in jail.
Latisha S. Curry and Jamarlin O. Ladd, 207 Fisher St., Batesville, both entered guilty pleas to petit larceny and were both fined $348.
Rannie A. Young, 200-D Leonard St., Batesville, had a simple assault charge dismissed after the affiant, Brenda Stewart, failed to appear to prosecute.
Jamarvis Banks, 1668 Woodruff Rd., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to stalking Angela Chapman on September 26. Banks was fined $667.
Ralph C. Pollard Jr., 10 Elm St., Charleston, had a case continued for DUI, driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance. A trial was set for December 16.
Joey A. Wells, 43 CR 173, Oxford, entered a not guilty plea to shoplifting. A trial was set.
Jakeysha A. Flowers, 4072 Curtis Rd., Batesville, entered a guitly plea to shoplifting from Walmart. She was fined $1,146.
Rico Harrison, 2200 OB McClinton, Senatobia, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting dvds from Walmart and had old fines of $866.25 due since August 2010. He was given credit for the 13 days he spent in jail awaiting court and his old fines were lowered to $455 due in two weeks.
Tammy S. Cox, 210 Oak Ave., Como, had a trial set for Nov. 25 after entering a not guilty plea to shoplifting from Walmart.
Laura K. Hervey, 30 Birdsong Cove, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting  from Walmart and was fined $1,146.
Dominque A. Patterson, 318 Panola, Batesville, was given time served for disorderly conduct-failure to comply and simple possession of marijuana.
Patterson had been incarcerated since September 25, 2015.
Christopher Morris, 19 Harmon Circle, Batesville, had a simple assault case dismissed after the affiant, Rocklyn Reed, failed to appear to prosecute.

Jason D. West, 20-A Trammel Rd., Batesville, had a DUI-second amended to a DUI-first. He also had charges for driving while license suspended, child endangerment and running a stop sign. He was represented by Attorney Brennan Horan.
David Lee Ausborn, 25 Greenbriar Circle, Courtland, was fined $779 for DUI.
