After 524 people applied last week for 250 part-time jobs offered in connection with the Polar Express Train Ride in Batesville in November and December, officials announced there is no need for the extended job fair they had originally planned for this weekend.

“We are over our quota in filling those positions,” Janaye McKinney, administrative supervisor, said Wednesday.
