Batesville Mayor Jerry Autrey noted last week that much was being spent to upgrade and repair infrastructure that has deteriorated over time, some lines recently dated as far back as 1911. Last Tuesday city crews were working to plug a water line on Court Street that once fed Central Street. City aldermen approved relining a sewer pipe under the current downtown construction from Stubbs Store area to Panola Avenue.
