Master plumber application approved

By John Howell
The Batesville Licensing Commission at its May 12 meeting approved the application of David R. Perry Sr. for a Master Plumber and Gas Fitter license, according to minutes submitted as a report for today’s meeting of the city’s board of mayor and aldermen.

Perry’s application received the unanimous vote of those present, including Chairman Tommy Caine and commissioners Richard Cook, Mike Druetto and Roosevelt Kitchens. Approval was based on Perry’s passing the exam required by the City of Batesville Licensing Ordinance.

A fifth licensing commissioner, Burl Reid, was unable to attend, according to the minutes.
Commissioners also voted unanimously to deny the application of an applicant for Journeyman Electrician who applied on the basis of a Southaven license that had not been kept up to date. The applicant passed the Southaven exam in 2003, the minutes state.

A Southaven Building Division spokesman told Batesville Code Administrator Pam Comer that “the exam given in 2003 is no longer an approved exam and the license could not be renewed based on those exam results.”
