Jason Chrestman has qualified to run for Justice Court Judge as a Democrat in the August 4 party primary election, Deliley Gatson is running for the District Five Supervisor post as a Democrat and Mike H. Moore is an independent candidate for the District Four supervisor’s post whose name will be on the General Election ballot November 3.
Chrestman is a long time Panola County law enforcement officer who has served as deputy and headed Panola County’s Drug Task Force.
Gatson recently ran for her district’s election commission office and Moore is a long time Panola County business owner.
Chrestman will face longtime incumbent Willie E. “Bill” Joiner in the Democratic Primary.
Gatson will face first-term incumbent Cole Flint in the August 4 primary and Moore will face the winners of the August party primaries. Democrat incumbent Kelly Morris is being challenged in the Democratic primary by Keith Moore and Donald Phelps.
Ken Williams has qualified to run for the District Four supervisor position as a Republican and thus far is unchallenged in the primary. The winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries will join Mike H. Moore on the November General election ballot when the highest number of votes wins the election without needing a majority.
Potential candidates have until Friday, February 27 to qualify.
