Farris “Bud” Green, 89, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services will be held Friday, February 6 at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Pope M.B. Church. Pastor Willie Frost will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Green, born July 22, 1925, in Pope, to the late Bennie Farris Green Sr. and Leona Herring, attended Pope School and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as Seaman 1st Class. He was a member of Spring Hill Pope M.B. Church where he was a deacon. He was alderman for the City of Pope and a trustee for Pope/Courtland Development Association. He was also a member of the Pope City Water Board.

Survivors include: his wife, Ocearine Pierrie Green of Pope; five daughters, Esther Stokes of Waterlog, Iowa, Barbara Townsend of Lakeland, Tenn., Elaine House of Oklahoma City, Helen Green Winston of Pittsburgh and Yolanda Rudd of Batesville; four sons, Carl Green of Detroit, Gregory Green of Pope, Irvin Green of Southaven and Eric Green of Batesville; four sisters, Maggie F. Mays, Eva Smith and Lillie West, all of Detroit and Betty Dugger of Memphis and three brothers, Joe Green, John Green, both of Detroit and Benjamin Green of Bartlett, Tenn.
