Travis G. Blackburn
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Rev. Zannie Leland will officiate. Visitation will be held today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in Pope Chapel Church Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Blackburn, born Jan. 9, 1936, in Enid, to the late Noble Blackburn and Clara Sandford Blackburn, was a member of Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and a retired assembly worker at GE Aviation.
Survivors include: three sons, Travis Blackburn Jr. of Chicago, Ronnie Blackburn of Memphis and Travis Blackburn II of Enid; four daughters, Brenda Taylor of Chicago, Marilyn Blackburn Parker of Calument City, Ill., Shelia B. Owens of Memphis and Kesha London of University Park, Ill.; three brothers, Tommy Blackburn of Lombard, Ill., Dexter Blackburn of Coldwater and Joe Blackburn of Anchorage, Alaska; six sisters, Mable Roberson of Los Angeles, Calif., Martha Williams, Emma Curtis, Daphene Neal, all of Charleston, Gentra Lighting of Batesville and Kewanda Lucas of Chicago; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Sherrie Ann Tutor Darby
POPE––Sherrie Ann Tutor Darby, 56, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will be held today 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Doug Tutor Jr. and Rev. Derrick Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Darby, born Oct. 8, 1958, in Quitman County, to the late William Jewel and Nellie Mavis Tims Tutor, was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Earl Darby.
Survivors include: two daughters, Keisha Darby Austin of Courtland and Chrystal Darby Brower of Pope; four sisters, Rita Tutor Cook, Diana Tutor Cook, Ginger Tutor Ridgeway, all of Courtland and Myra Tutor Wright of Abbeville; six brothers, Danny Ray Tutor, Ronnie Ray Tutor, both of Batesville, Tony Lynn Tutor and John David Tutor, both of Courtland, Douglas Wayne Tutor Sr. and Bobby Dale Tutor, both of Senatobia and four grandchildren.

Larry Joe Fogarty
SARDIS––Larry Joe Fogarty Sr., 67. died Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Fogarty, born July 3, 1947, in Memphis, to Erma Minnie Hintz Fogarty of Grenada and the late George Drewey Fogarty, was the owner of Ole Miss Body Shop in Oxford for the last 20 years.
Survivors along with his mother, include: two daughters, Taren Fogarty Denton of Canton and Lisa Fogarty Lunamand of Olive Branch; son, Larry Joe Fogarty Jr. of Batesville; one sister, Nancy Ratliff of Grenada; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Leslie Lee Johnson
BATESVILLE––Leslie Lee Johnson, 69, died Friday, October 3, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were held Monday at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Earnest Gordon and Rev. Ernie Gordon officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Johnson, born Nov. 27, 1944, in Batesville, to the late Raybert Lee Johnson and Minnie Etta Bankston Johnson, was retired from MDOT and attended Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Ann Berryhill Johnson; two daughters, Rita Jean Williams of Enid and Theresa Lynn Fennel of Courtland; three brothers, Charles Thomas Johnson of Memphis, Earnest Gene Johnson of Courtland and Roy Larry Johnson of Petal and four grandchildren.
David Daniel Perkins
CHARLESTON––David Daniel Perkins, 75, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Tallahatchie County Nursing Home.
Services were held Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Cold Springs Road Cemetery in Sardis. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Perkins, born Sept. 11, 1939, to the late Birttee Perkins and Louise Leeton Perkins, was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. He was retired from Muscle Shoals where he was plant manager.
Survivors include: his wife, Beverly Wright Perkins of Charleston; two daughters, DeLacy Perkins Kendall and her husband, Sammy of Enid and Dottie Perkins Potts and her husband, Chris of Oxford; four brothers, Paul Perkins of Tupelo, Darrell Perkins of Hernando, Larry Perkins and Frank Perkins, both of Sardis; one sister, Mary Lee Wilson of Sledge and five grandchildren, Michael Smith, Harliegh Matthews, Daniel Perkins, Landon Potts and Blare Kendall.
