Walter Madlock
CHICAGO–Walter Madlock, 86, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at Elmhurst Hospital in Chicago.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mountain Primitive Baptist Church Baptist Church in Sardis. Joseph Porter will officiate. Burial will be in Batesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.  With family hour from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Madlock, born Nov. 30, 1927, in Sardis, to the late Jessie B. Madlock and Hattie Nelson, was a retired architect and builder. He was a member of Rocky Mountain Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include: six sons, Mark Ford Madlock of Rialto, Calif., Billy Ford Madlock of Fontana, Calif., Wayne Ford Madlock of Los Angeles, Calif. Malcolm Benson and Bobby Walton, both of Batesville and Johnny Walter Madlock of Los Angeles; one brother, Jessie Madlock of Maywood, Ill.; six sisters, Lucy Roberson of Milwaukee, Wis., Martha Mae Spearman of Bellwood, Ill., Sarah Madlock of Broadview, Ill., Eva Washington of Maywood, Ill., Pearl Reeves of Chicago and Willie Dees of Romeoville, Ill. and 17 grandchildren.

Coye Roseborough
SARDIS–Coye Roseborough, 57, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. Rev. Jessie Frison will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Level Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.

Roseborough, born Sept. 6, 1957, in Como, to Willie Jennings and Virginia Roseborough, graduated from North Panola High School and Northwest Community College. He was an x-ray technician and a member of Mt. Level M.B. Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Josie Roseborough of Sardis; one daughter, Marie Perry of Sardis; six sisters, Lois Roseborough of Senatobia, Tiwatza Anderson, Gail Brunt and Eleanor Nelson, all of Sardis Jennifer Roseborough and Amanda Jennings, all of Como.

Thelma “Chuck” Z. Tate Sr.
COLDWATER–Thelma “Chuck” Z. Tate Sr., 86, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Batesville.
Services were held Saturday, April 26 at Mt. Calm M.B. Church in Coldwater. Rodgers Funeral Home had charge.

Tate was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include: his wife, Bessie M. Betts Tate; four daughters, Vera Alexandra of Senatobia, Glinda Harris of Olive Branch, Lisa Cathey of Senatobia and Jill Harris of Sardis; five sons, Charles S. Tate Sr., Melvin Tate Sr., both of Senatobia, Marvin Tate of Coldwater, Thelma Tate Jr. of Memphis and Danny C. Tate Sr. of Southaven; one sister, Imo Gene Hollowell of Detroit; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
