JA chapter promises to screen books to assure appropriate content for kids

The Junior Auxiliary of Batesville expresses their sincere apologies for the recent distribution of a few books through the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program, which had inappropriate content.
We appreciate the South Panola School District allowing us to come into their school and distribute books to all the children in grades K4-5th. We have distributed over 5,000 books in the South Panola School District this year to enhance the reading levels of all children.

The Junior Auxiliary of Batesville receives the majority of our books free from a company which is supposed to be sending age appropriate books; however, this time we do not agree with the company’s selection.

We will no longer distribute books until we have screened them more thoroughly. We will be implementing a stronger screening process for this upcoming year beginning immediately.
We appreciate all the community does to support our organization and we would not be able to service our community without this continued support.
