Country quartet Lonestar will headline Batesville SpringFest 4/29/2014

Lonestar, the platinum-selling country quartet, will headline Batesville’s SpringFest downtown festival May 17, the Panola Partnership and Batesville Main Street have announced.
Others in the lineup include David Ashley, Honky Tonk Heroes, Jamie Baker and The Vip’s, all of whom will perform Friday evening. On Saturday, performers will include the Mississippi Po Folks featuring Keith Sanders; Grace Askew; Kern Pratt and the Accused; Jimbo Mathus; Mighty Souls Brass Band; and Bush Hawg, warming the crowd up for the headliners.
Lonestar is marking its 20th anniversary this year. Reunited with original lead singer Richie McDonald, the band is embarking on an extensive anniversary tour, with over 90 dates scheduled.
Members of the band are: Richie McDonald – lead vocals, piano; Michael Britt – lead guitar, backing vocals; Keech Rainwater – drums; Dean Sams – keyboards, acoustic guitar, backing vocals.
There will be a traditional midway with carnival rides, food vendors, and activities for children.
Friday night’s lineup also includes the presentation of the winners of the Miss SpringFest Pageant.
Saturday’s activities start with the Panola County Humane Society’s Racing for Paws 5K at 8 a.m.
Talent Contest
The Young Professionals of Panola will host the SpringFest Talent Contest at 10:30 a.m. This event is a sanctioned Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Show Preliminary Contest and open to individuals and groups ages 9-21. The winner will receive a paid entry into the 2014 Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Competition.
The show will take place on the SpringFest Stage.
Entry forms may be picked up at Panola Partnership, Family Pet Hospital, Panola Playhouse, or printed from the website, www.panolacounty.com/springfest-youth-talent-show.
Entry fees are $35 for a solo act and $60 for a duo act. Acts of three or more must add $10 per person to the $60 duo fee. Each participant will receive a Batesville SpringFest shirt with entry.
Mail-in registrations are due May 9.
