Jerry L. Darby
BATESVILLE–Jerry L. Darby,  75, husband of Margaret Darby, died Wednesday, February 5, at Baptist Memorial Hosptial, Memphis.

A memorial service was held February 7 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clay Baker officiating.

Mr. Darby was born August 7, 1938 to the late George Washington and Lillie Mae Tomlin Darby in Courtland, After high school, he began working for Dunlap and Kyle Company and continued to enjoy his sales job for 39 years, retiring at age 58 from his first and only job at what is now known as Gateway Tire and Service Center.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Margaret Darby; their daughter, Dr. Meloney Darby Whitfield and husband Lewis of Tupelo; one son, Allen Lyn Darby and wife Myra Stewart of Batesville; sister, Sally Jo Blair also of Batesville and a brother, Neil Darby of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributios be made to Panola County Cancer Relief Organization, P.O. Box 1718, Batesville, Miss. 38606.

Lois Lavern Redd
SARDIS–Lois Lavern Redd, 69, of Sardis died February 6. Funeral services were held February 8 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Surrette Cemetery in Arkabutla.

Mr. Redd is survived by his daughter Donna Redd, son, Ricky Redd, sisters Dianne Bell, Patricia Wood and Annette Tillman, all of Sardis; brothers Bill Redd of Tutwiler, Donald Paige and Dale Paige of Batesville, and Doug Paige of Sardis; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lou Redd, daughter, Paula Long, and son, Richard Redd.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
