Patricia A. McGuinness Bollinger

HARTFORD, S.D.– Patricia A. (McGuinness) Bollinger, 75, stepmother of Lee Gentry of Pope, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her residence.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Hartford Cemetery with Pastor Chris Gorman officiating. Hartford Funeral Home had charge.

Born March 24, 1938, in Providence, R. I. to William and Catherine (Hackett) McGuinness, graduated from Hope High School.

She served as the Executive Director of the Mojave Valley United Way for several years and also was a lunch lady for Lincoln High School.

Survivors include: her husband, Ron; her children, Valerie Bruce of Canton, and Wayne Dunham II of Sioux Falls; step daughters, Lee Gentry of Pope, and Mary Susan Cobb of  Cleveland; eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations should be made to the Charles & Gertrude Johnson Educational Scholarship Fund in Patsy’s memory.

Henry Ruth Bradley Cook

SENATOBIA — Henry Ruth Bradley Cook, 94, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral services were held Friday at Lifepoint Church in Senatobia. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery near Crenshaw. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Cook was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church in Sledge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Alba Cook, two sisters, one brother and her parents, Henry Bradley and Lizzie Mae Monley Bradley.

Survivors include: nine daughters, Ollie Coleman (Bob) of Kilmichael, Peggy Shull (Tommy) of Southaven, Mildred Hamilton (Brewer) of Pontotoc, Evelyn Pladey (Tom) of West Milford, N. J., Lucille Schriver of LaGrange, Ga., Brenda Dover (Oliver) of Ecru, Carol Tierce (George) of Cummings, Ga., Sandra Mayo (Don) of Crenshaw and Ann Spires (Bobby) of England, Ark.; five sons, John Cook (Lola) of Longtown, James Earl Cook (Susie) of Crenshaw, James Albert Cook (Diane) and  Donnie Cook (Sandra) both of Senatobia; two sisters, Dora Crawford and Martha Davis; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Arbra Hendree Jr.

BATESVILLE — Arbra Hendree Jr., 65, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at his residence.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Pastor Zannie Leland will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Church Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Hendree, born Sept. 20, 1947, to Arbra Hendree Sr. and Gracie Lawson Hendree, was a retired school teacher from North Panola School District. He was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church, National Educator Association, Mississippi Association and Mississippi Valley Alumni Association.

Survivors include: two sons, Adrell Hendree and Alante T. Walker, both of Batesville; one sister, Gracie H. Buford of Perkinston and two grandchildren.

Aubrey Leon Hudson

SARDIS — Aubrey Leon Hudson, 73, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery near Sardis. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Jessteen Goodman Hudson of Sardis; one daughter, Pennie Whitted of Atlanta; one son, John Timothy Hudson of Sardis; two sisters, Sue Dean of Lebanon, Tenn. and Carolyn Casey of Senatobia; one brother, Gilbert Hudson of Batesville and four grandchildren.

Ralph E. Sullivan

BATESVILLE — Ralph E. Sullivan, 74, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were held Sunday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matt Hill officiating. Burial was in Tutwiler Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Sullivan was born in Port Smith, Ohio on Sept. 18, 1938. He was a self employed scrap metal dealer and attended Wray’s Chapel Church in Pope.

Survivors include: his wife Charlotte Pruitt Sullivan of Pope; four daughters, Elizabeth Ann Bowman and Dana Self, both of Clarksdale, Stephanie Pender of  Knoxville and Margrett Sullivan of Pope; one brother, Donald Carver of Louisville, Ken.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
