MEMPHIS – Ronald Layne Campbell, 64, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Spring Gates Nursing Home in Memphis.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon Wednesday prior to the graveside service at Wells Funeral Home.
Campbell was born March 30, 1949 in Houston, Texas to Robert Lee and Bettie Mae Pope Campbell. He was a disabled veteran of the Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include: his daughter, Marsha Campbell Allred of Senatobia; parents, Robert Lee and Bettie Mae Pope Campbell of Plant City, Fla.; three brothers, Robert Arnold Campbell of Lakeland, Fla., his twin, Donald Wayne Campbell of Olive Branch, David Louis Campbell of San Antonio, Texas and two grandchildren.
COFFEEVILLE – Debra “Debbie” Anne Waldo Carter, 50, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home in Coffeeville. She was employed as a Pharmacy Technician at Medicap Pharmacy in Batesville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 10:00am at Calvary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, with Bro. James West officiating. Burial will be in the Elam Cemetery in Coffeeville
She was born August 19, 1962 in Ruleville, to Toby Austin and Iva Lee Denney Waldo. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served and coordinated many church activities.
Survivors include: her daughter, Alessandra “Sandy” Carter Hutchens of Tillatoba; her son, Grady Lee Carter of Coffeeville; her parents, Toby and Iva Lee Waldo of Coffeeville; her sister, Rhonda Waldo of Mercer, Tenn.; her brothers, James Waldo of Goosecreek, S.C. and Cliff Waldo of Coffeeville; her granddaughter, Trista Alyse Martin.
SARDIS – Doris Jean Carlton, 72, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Howard Beam will officiate. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge.
Carlton, born June 20, 1940, to the late Claudie Shields and Violet Waits Shields, in Grenada, was a dietary technician for Sardis Nursing Home and a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Carlton.
Survivors include: two daughters, Gail Snider and Rita Jackson, both of Sardis; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

POPE – Gwin Jackson Jr, 59, retired from Tri-State Pest Control, died June 1, 2013 at his residence.
Services were held Monday at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope with burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Bradley. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale had charge of arrangements.
Jackson, born to the late Hurket Gwin Jackson Sr. and Hazel Virginia Strohm Jackson White, was South Panola grandparent of the year, and South Panola’s Mr. Baseball with a plaque being placed in his honor at his favorite seat. He was a member of Hosanna Family Worship Center.
Survivors include: his wife of 37 years Joy Utz Jackson of Pope; daughter April Jackson Gammill; Brother Michael George Jackson; sisters, Gail Jackson Norton and Jean Jackson Parker; three grandchildren

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Mildred Lois Avery Lashlee, 89, of Bemidji, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Neilson Place in Bemidji.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at the Camden City Cemetery in Camden, Tennessee, with Dr. Frederic Martin officiating. Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home has charge.
Lashlee, born Dec. 31, 1923, in Batesville, to Cecil and Ammie (Busby) Avery, graduated in 1945 from the Mississippi Southern College. She married Cecil H. Lashlee, Jr., on January 21, 1949, in Batesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include: two daughters, Roberta Martin of Bemidji and Nancy Lashlee Darragh of Jacksonville, Florida; one son, Cecil H. Lashlee III, of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Louneal Gee of Batesville; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
