Coaching carousel swings by Panola

The coaching carousel went through Panola County again this year.
Four coaches have announced plans to leave at the end of the school year. One has already left.

Houston Ealy left South Panola as an assistant coach to be quarterbacks coach at Velma Jackson High School in Camden in Madison County, outside of Jackson. South Panola head coach Lance Pogue said Ealy’s position will be replaced but no decision has been finalized to date.

One-year North Delta head baseball coach Jeff Walls accepted an assistant coach position at Desoto Central High School.

Assistant coach Luke Kiihnl has accepted an assistant baseball coaching position at Lafayette County High School. Kiihnl coached Pope football and basketball and South Panola ninth grade baseball.

North Panola assistant coach Timothy Krautkramer will be leaving at the end of the school year. North Panola hired Desmond Hendricks to coach linebackers. Carl Diffee is now coaching quarterbacks and running backs.

Hendricks played at Rhodes College and in Europe with the Ljublijana Silverhaws where he was defensive player of the year twice and won one championship. He will also be the junior high head coach.

In other coaching news, Kevin Farmer, former South Panola player, was an assistant coach at Charleston. He is leaving Charleston for an assistant coaching job at Clarksdale.
