Aldermen hear permit requests at short meet

A shortened meeting of Batesville aldermen revolved around hearings for five conditional use permits and two site variances recommended by Batesville’s Planning Commission.

Tuesday’s regular meeting was held in tandem with the municipal election in the upstairs room of City Hall. The alderman-at-large, who serves as vice-mayor, Teddy Morrow presided. Mayor Jerry Autrey and Aldermen Stan Harrison were absent as both faced opponents in the Democratic Primary Election and were campaigning.

Conditional use permits were issued to Burns BBQ for a sno-cone business at Eagle Crest Shopping Center and to Robyn Sims for New Orleans Style Snoballs at 504 Highway 6 East.
Chris Smith received a conditional use permit for a crawfish vendor business at 596 Highway 51 South.
