ND b’ball splits with Delta

Despite having four players in double digit scoring, the North Delta boys basketball team dropped its season opening game 57-47 to Delta Academy Tuesday night in Marks.

Renic Greenlee led the Wave with 13 points while Hunt Howell added 11 points to go along with six rebounds. Tylor Lee also had 11 points and three blocked shots. Jonathan Mackey chipped in with 10 points and five assists. Nick Woolfolk rounded out the scoring with two points.

In the varsity girls contest, Hastings Neal and Claire Gant each scored 10 points as North Delta improved to 5-2 on the season with a 46-36 win over the Lady Raiders.

Erin Snider pulled down 11 rebounds to go with seven points. Charla Darby registered six points while Jordan Pullen contributed with five points and nine rebounds. Callie Masterson also accounted for five points and a game-high eight assists. Peyton Rico finished with three points.

North Delta, who played at Tunica last night, was scheduled to play at home tonight against Oak Hill but the game has been canceled due to the Green Wave football team playing  for the North State Championship game.
