Neighborhood Watch participants in Sardis and Como are holding a cook-out Saturday to recruit more communities into the program.

The cook-out will be held at the EMA building in Sardis from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., said Panola EMA director Daniel Cole.

Members of the West Como and Sardis Area Neighborhood Watches are attending.

A grant from Homeland Security is funding the event.

The EMA building is the former National Guard armory near Interstate 55.
