The thief took cash but left credit cards in the wallet according to the report from BPD Sgt. Richard Stonestreet.

The police report states that others helped the victim search the park for the wallet, including in bathrooms and trash cans. The wallet was found in a can wrapped in a Walmart bag.

According to other weekend police reports:

•    Patrolman Mark Lott took a report from Holiday Inn, where thieves who broke into a Cadillac Escalade walked away with a Louis Vuitton purse valued at $2,000.

Also reported stolen were an i Phone, Visa card, Regions debit card, WWE wrestling tickets, and $300 in cash, all valued at $3,458.

The break-in occurred sometime after midnight July 20. The thieves broke a rear window of the automobile to gain entry.
BPD Detective Tommy Crutcher lifted fingerprints from the vehicle, Lott wrote in the report.

•    Thieves stole a flat-screen TV and an AC window unit from a home on Hobbs Street in west Batesville.

The homeowner returned from work and discovered the break-in according to the report from Patrolman Jon Horton.

Horton’s report indicates officers assisted the homeowner by searching the home then searched the immediate area and spoke with neighbors.

Lt. Kerry Pittman and Sgt. Michael Hardin helped Horton secure the home and search the area according to the police report.

The flat screen is a 32-inch Sylvania valued at $549. The report did not describe the air conditioner.

•    BPD Sgt. Justin Maples took a report from a Westridge Apartment resident who reported that tires were slashed on her automobile, an ’84 Delta 88.

The crime victim reported the tires were recently purchased and cost approximately $103 each.
