Prisoners, guard, driver injured

A private transport van carrying prisoners crashed on I-55 Tuesday afternoon near Oakland around 2 p.m. Nine prisoners, a guard and driver were transported to Tri-Lakes Medical Center for treatment.  

The van was operated by GEO Group, the world’s largest private prison company.

Witnesses said that the van was rear-ended by another vehicle.
