Kiihnl’s pitching career at Lipscomb comes to an end
The 2012 softball season came to a close last Friday in the Atlantic Sun Championship in Spartanburg, S.C., as Lipscomb lost 9-2 to Kennesaw State.
Lipscomb lost to Jacksonville in the first round then defeated host USC Upstate on the consolation side of the bracket prior to falling to Kennesaw State.
The Lady Bisons finished 35-20. Junior Kelsey Cartwright led the team at the plate hitting .381 with 18 home runs.
Senior Whitney Kiihnl of Pope was 22-14 on the mound with a 1.80 ERA.
Kiihnl was a two-time Gatorade Player of the year while at South Panola when she led the team to back-to-back state championships in 2007 and 2008.
