paper hits stands

The print edition of the current newspaper will hit news stands by 4 p.m. Friday while local mail subscribers should receive their copies in Saturday’s mail. Online and subscription plus subscribers received their editions Thursday evening.

An electrical switch is thought to have caused a problem with the printing press that shut down before the final section was printed Thursday night. Production staff sent data files to the Greenwood Commonwealth later Thursday night for printing early Friday morning.

The paper was delivered noon Friday where staff members inserted sections prior to delivery.

Howell added, “We have the part needed in route and if it is not the solution to our problem, we have plan B and C and your paper should be on time next Tuesday.”
