Bond was set at $1 million each for four defendants charged with murder in the January 16 gang-style shooting of Jeremiah Wright in Batesville.

Marico L. Fondren, Marcus T. Wheatley, Michael D. Fondren and Jayson D. Dishmon appeared separately before Batesville Municipal Judge pro tempore Jay Westfaul at initial appearances under tight security in the Panola County jail Wednesday.

Citing security concerns Municipal Judge Bill McKenzie moved the initial appearances from the municipal courtroom. See a complete story in Friday’s print and online edition of The Panolian.
