NP  flounders against RF

The North Panola teams played Rosa Fort tough Friday night but came home with a loss.

The Lady Cougars fell to the Lady Lions 65-56 in overtime. The game was tied at 52 at the end of regulation, but Rosa Fort outscored North Panola 13-4 in overtime to win.

At the end of the first quarter, Rosa Fort led 14-13. At halftime, North Panola led 25-24. The score reversed again at the end of the third quarter as Rosa Fort led 40-39.

Darlyeshia Ward led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 22, followed by Teariny Wheatley with 16. Other Lady Cougar scorers include Angelica Davison and O’Nesha Hunt, six points each; Candace Mottley, four; and rounding out the scoring were Anatasia Johnson and Takymdris Clay, one point each.

The boys fell to Rosa Fort 75-56. Scoring for the Cougars were Robert Oliver, 14; Donte Howard, 10; Vonte Howard, 9; Cordarryl Phillips, 7; Darrius Jackson, 5; Terrance Kirkwood and Jerotney Kelson, 4 each; and Kiev Washington, 3.

The Cougar teams will be in Byhalia tonight for district games and return home Friday to host district foe Marks Palmer at 6 p.m.
