The fifth annual game will be played on January 5, 2012 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. and will be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m. central time.

An expansion to the 2012 event is a nationwide selection tour to recognize the student athletes, as well as the coaches, families and communities who have helped make these players’ dreams a reality.

Gross has recorded 43 total tackles that include 38 solo and six assists averaging 6.1 per game. He’s racked up six sacks, four fumble recoveries, one interception, and one pass deflection and scored one touchdown.

Gross said, “This means a lot to me. It’s a great opportunity to go down there and show myself off and let other colleges see me. I want to play hard letting them know how football is in Mississippi.

“It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point,” Gross continued. “Ever since I got moved up in eighth grade it’s been a lot of work. It took every summer coming in and working day in and day out. I stayed positive also.”

Gross was the first ever chosen from South Panola to play in this game.
“I’m proud to represent South Panola. I love my school and I know a lot of guys here will be pulling for me.”
