Freshman Republican Congressman Alan Nunnelee has announced a town hall meeting next Monday night in Batesville.

The September 26 town hall is set for 6 p.m. at the Panola County Courthouse.

Nunnelee, of Tupelo, represents  Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District. He was elected in 2010 over incumbent Democrat Travis Childers.

Nunnelee is apparently going   to extra lengths to announce the town hall — flyers have been mailed to Panola Countians and an ad was purchased in today’s Panolian.  

A spokesman for the Congressman said Nunnelee is publicizing his town hall meetings to ensure 1st District constituents have an opportunity to be heard.

“Congressman Nunnelee wants to make sure everyone knows he is in their community. He is there to listen to their concerns,” said spokesman Alexander Firestone.
