The South Panola slowpitch softball team will host the first district game of the season against Grenada today at 4 p.m.

The North Delta Lady Green Wave fastpitch softball team will play non-conference action at Magnolia Heights at 4 p.m.

North Delta pee wee football team will play at Magnolia Heights. The fifth grade will play at 6 p.m. and the sixth grade at 7 p.m.

Thurs., Aug. 25

South Panola slowpitch will play at Independence  at 5 p.m.

North Delta Jr. High football will host Kirk Academy at 7 p.m.

Fri., Aug. 26

North Delta football will host West Memphis in its home opener at 7:30 p.m.

Sat., Aug. 27

Youth football league opens the season. Sardis and Pope will field their teams while Batesville is off.

Final registration for the City of Batesville Youth Soccer Program and Men’s Fall Softball League will take place Tuesday, August 23 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Trussell Park. Registration fee is $15 for youth ages 5 to 14.

Softball teams signing up for the league should bring a $100 deposit.

Tickets for the Saturday, August 27 ESPN televised game between South Panola and Hoover will go on sale at South Panola Thursday, August 25.

Tickets will be $12 at the high school and $15 at the game.

The tickets will be sold from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Game day T-shirts will also be sold.

The tickets will also be good for the 11 a.m. game between St. Aquinas and Prattville in Buccaneer Stadium.

Buses have been chartered for fans who need a ride to the South Panola vs. Hoover football game Saturday.

Fees are $40 and does not include the ticket.
