The back seat passenger in a Thursday afternoon auto accident on Highway 6 West was pronounced dead at the scene, Panola County Coroner Gracie Grant-Gulledge said.

Barbara Criswell Dover, 76, of Marks was killed. She was a passenger in a car driven by her daughter, Mary Willard, that was involved in the accident with a pickup. Willard’s husband, Jerry Willard, was also also a passenger. Both Willards were transported to the Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford for treatment, the coroner said.

The female driver of the other vehicle, a pickup, was transported to Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville for treatment.

A spokesman for the Batesville Police Department said late Thursday that officers were still investigating the accident.

Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks is in charge of arrangements, Grant-Gulledge said.
