“I have been wanting to go to Mississippi State since junior high,” said South Panola senior athlete Kendrick Market.

Sunday, Market and Dandy Dozen teammate Nickolas Brassell verbally committed to sign with Mississippi State to play football next fall.

National Day of Signing is February 2 when players sign national letters of intent to the university or college for whom they plan to play. Verbal commitments are non-binding.

Brassell reportedly changed his mind about MSU after news broke Monday, but in a Tuesday afternoon interview with The Panolian, he reiterated his commitment.

“Anything could happen, but for now I am a Bulldog,” he said.

It was mistakenly reported Brassell and Market spoke to Bulldog head coach Dan Mullen. They said they spoke to Melvin Smith, the recruiter for the area.
