Edgar Leo Darby, age 89, passed away Tuesday morning, May 11, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13 at Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Mr. Darby was born June 24, 1920 in Panola County to the late Edgar and Addie Darby. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving in WWII and then on second enlistment was in the United States Army. He was an entrepreneur, salesman and writer.

He is survived by three daughters, Judy Darby Galloway of Memphis; Janet Darby Stewart of Jonesboro, Ark.; Rita Darby McArthur of Sardis; two sons, Dennis K. Darby of Batesville; and Eddie K. Darby of Monee, Ill.; 11 Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Byron Brown, Catlin McArthur, Perrin Robertson, Bubba Bryan, John Lantern, Dino Stutts, Brandon Darby and Nathan Sorenson.
