Rain delayed games reset

By Myra Bean

The consistent deluge of rain has caused some changes in the outdoor sports schedule for the upcoming week.

The North Delta fastpitch softball team only played one game against Indianola Thursday and won to remain undefeated in the district.

The Lady Green Wave will host Marshall Academy today in district action at 4 p.m. They are set to play Indianola in a district make up game tomorrow, but if they win today, that game may not be necessary, according to head coach Brooke Turner.

The Lady Green Wave were scheduled to play Delta Academy in non-district action yesterday but the score was not available at press time.

North Delta, No. 1 team in 1AA, will host the first round of the North AA tournament  on Saturday.  Marshall or Indianola will be the No. 2 team in 1AA.

Also in the tournament are No. 1 and No. 2 in 2AA Carroll Academy and Oak Hill Academy. Rankings in that category have not been determined.

Teams in 3AA are No. 1 Leake Academy and No. 2 Hillcrest Christian School.

Times and matchups will be released Wednesday and printed in The Panolian on Friday, along with the starting time of the tournament.

See the bracket on page B2.
