The City of Batesville will hold its third annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Batesville Civic Center on Saturday, July 4, according to Mayor Jerry Autrey.

Reached by phone Monday, Autrey said a pair of bands will be performing during the event.

Batesville favorites The Lighthorse Harry Band will be performing at 6 p.m. with Electric Rodeo to follow at 8:30 p.m.

This will be Electric Rodeo’s third appearance.

Autrey said the city is not spending as much money as in previous years, but, by working with a new vendor, the fireworks show will not suffer.

“We are spending less money, but we went out for bids, and I think we will end up with more bang for our buck,” he said. “This year’s fireworks will be set to music, so that will add to the show.”

This year’s fireworks show is being engineered by High-Tech Special Effects.

A timeline for the event shows that fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.

“The Fireworks/Music will be digitally synchronized and include special effects for which you will have to be on the grounds to get the full impact,” Hyde’s email said.

They mayor said the event will also include a carnival that will feature a rock climbing wall and monster truck rides for kids.

Coolers will not be allowed at the BCC. Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the festivities.
