Facebook was buzzing hot for former South Panola pitcher, hitter, shortstop David Renfroe when the word got around that he was selected by the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox chosen Renfroe as the No. 107 pick in the third round.

Renfroe originally signed to play baseball at Ole Miss. He is the third Panola Countian drafted to the professional league this year, following Peria Jerry and Jamarca Sanford who were drafted by the NFL.
