Jerry Faulkner Sr.

COMO–Jerry Faulkner Sr., 56, died Monday, March 23, 2009.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Springfield M.B. Church in Senatobia. Burial will be in Springfield M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time at the church and also Friday 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Rodgers Funeral Home. Rodgers Funeral Home has charge.

Survivors include: his wife, Tracy Faulkner; four daughters, Kimley Gardner, Denise Johnson, both of Senatobia, Jerrica Farmer of Sardis and Latoya Wilbourn of Como; three sons, Jerry Faulkner Jr. of Como, Gary Gardner and Ricardo Gardner, both of Senatobia; two sisters, Patricia Faulkner and Dorothy Bradley, both of Senatobia; seven brothers, Leon Faulkner, Glenn Faulkner, Eugene Faulkner, Lonnie Faulkner, Willie Eddie Faulkner and Stanley Faulkner, all of Senatobia and Johnny Faulkner of Como and 12 grandchildren.

Rita Faye Rushing Keen

BATESVILLE–Rita Faye Rushing Keen, 58, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at her residence.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Keen, born Jan. 31, 1951, in Sardis to the late William Ottie Rushing and Polly Ann Crawford Rushing Green, was retired from Fed-Ex after 22 years.

Survivors include: her husband, Robert H. “Butch” Keen of Batesville; her step-father, Henry L. Green of Pope; four step-daughters, Dee Dee Box of Batesville, Angie McIver of Batesville, Christy Jones of Batesville and Holly Keen of Tunica; six step-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Burt of Senatobia and Debra Green of Pope.

Jean Moore Nix

SARDIS – Mrs. Jean Ferrell Moore Nix, 87, died March 23, 2009, at her residence.

Memorial services were held Wednesday at Sardis Presbyterian Church followed by a family graveside service. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home of Sardis had charge.

Nix, born Jan. 19, 1922, in New Albany, to the late Allyne and  Albert Moore, attended school in Marks, and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She studied at Delta State University and received an associate of arts degree from Northwest Mississippi  Community College in 1985.  She married John Wesley Nix Nov. 27, 1941

She was an active member of Sardis Presbyterian Church, Friends of  the Library, The Sardis Women’s Club, and the Heflin House.  She was  employed at the Sardis Luggage Company and the MS Department of Human Services where she was an eligibility worker until her retirement in 1987.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Nix.

Survivors include five children: Kay Ayers (Curt) of  Oxford; Marjorie Cooper (Tom) of Clarksdale; Diane Urwin (Chuck) of  Litchfield, N.H.; Kris Golden (Wilson) of Falls Church, Va.; and Jay  Nix (Jennifer Harmon) of Bellingham, Wa.  She also leaves thirteen   grandchildren; Curt Ayers IV, Ferrell Ayers, Tom Cooper III, Jean  Cooper, John Cooper, LaurieUrwin Blanchette (Steve), Jay Urwin (Keri Klontz), Granger Harriss, Kasey Harriss Pinegar (Jeff), Wesley Harriss Alter (Mike), Will Golden (Vanessa Mamikunian), Lewis Golden, Camille Golden, and seven great-grandchildren; Hope Blanchette, Megan Blanchette, Brian Blanchette, Ayden Pinegar, Kaitlyn Pinegar, Mackenzie Pinegar, and  Ever Golden.

In lieu  of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Kenneth “Kenny” Burl Reid

Petty Officer Kenneth “Kenny” Burl Reid, formerly of Batesville, died on Monday at his home in Norfolk, Va.

Kenny was born on July 26, 1971 to Burl Reid and Mary Anderson, both of Batesville.

Kenny had just returned from his third tour of duty with the U.S. Navy.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Terry William Warren

BATESVILLE–Terry William Warren, 66, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at his residence.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Raymond Aven and Rev. David Snellgrove will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Warren, born Nov. 14, 1942, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to the late Lewis and Mary Revill Warren, was a project manager for Panola Construction in Batesville. He was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lynn Warren.

Survivors include: his wife, Kellie Marks Warren; one son, Bobby Lewis Kelly of Oxford; one brother, Lenis Warren of Dallas; five grandchildren, Amanda Scott, Brandon Scott, Nick Warren, Brittney Warren and Dustin Kelly; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Scott, Cannon Scott, Kaedence Warren and Makenzie Kelly.
